It is more by default than by design. Shahrukh Khan ’s home production Billoo Barber is set for clash with his good buddy Karan Johar ’s movie Dostana in November.
The Diwali this year won’t possibly have fireworks at the box-office. First, Akshay Kumar’s Chandni Chowk To China got postponed for at least four weeks due to technical glitches, now, SRK’s ‘Billoo Barber’ is reported to be pushed ahead by two weeks from Diwali weekend to Childrens’ Day on November 14.
But there is a hitch. The postponement will put SRK’s movie on collision course with Karan Johar’s much-anticipated home production ‘Dostana’, which stars Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham as two friends pretending to be gays.
Incidentally, SRK’s movie ‘Billoo Barber’ is also about two friends – one a barber, the other a superstar. Irrfan Khan plays the barber while SRK plays his superstar friend.
Though the clash of SRK’s and Johar’s movie isn’t yet confirmed, but if it does happen the two movies might end up eating each other’s market share. And then there’s also Harman Baweja ’s second film Victory set to hit the theatres on the same day.
With three big movies releasing on the same day, we can expect fireworks on Childrens’ Day.
