Vivek Oberoi was one of the Swami's disciples and had been his follower from 2005, Now, Vivek too is trying to distance himself from Guru after the Swami Nityanand sex scandal thickened with the emergence of another sleaze video showing the Swami with Tamil actress Yuvarani. According to sources, Vivek had been meeting the Swami regularly for a few years now. He, like all of the Swami's believers, was shocked when the scandal emerged. Vivek had been floored by the Swami when he first met him because he found it surprising that someone who was as young as Nithyanand could be an influential spiritual leader. Vivek had nicknamed Nithyanand "cool dude swami". He mainly met the Swami at the latter's ashram in Bidadi, near Bangalore. Vivek admits that he had a wonderful learning experience at the spiritual workshop at the ashram. He states that he has only met the Swami twice though. The actor doesn't wish to comment on the scandal until everything is clear.

Yuvarani: 'I'm not in a sexual relationship with Swami'

After Ranjitha, it's Tamil actress Yuvarani who's now purportedly involved in a romp with self-proclaimed godman Swami Nityananda. A video which surfaced on the Internet allegedly shows Yuvarani and Nityananda engaging in sexual activities in the nude. Although the video is posted on Youtube, access is currently disabled with a pop-up  which says that the site cannot be displayed due to its extreme pornographic content. TV channels couldn't air the video either owing to a Karnataka High Court stay order on airing any sleazy video of the swami. Meanwhile, Yuvarani has filed a petition with the Chennai police commissioner, requesting him to ensure that the video is taken off the Internet. In the petition, the actress said, "I'm not in a sexual relationship with Swami Nityananda and I'm hurt by the ongoing propaganda." When contacted, Police Commissioner T Rajendran refused to divulge any details of the request. Though Yuvarani wasn't available for comment, sources close to her confirmed that she and Ranjitha were friends and they used to visit the swami regularly. The two actresses have also done Tamil films together. According to sources, Nityananda has an ashram in Los Angeles where he used to go regularly with Ranjitha and Yuvarani. "The two actresses used to accompany him to striptease parties in the US," said the source, adding that Nityananda used to wear denim jeans and T-shirts when he was in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the Karnataka High Court took up the petition filed by Nityananda asking for a stay on proceedings for hearing yesterday. It has adjourned the case until Thursday and has issued notices to the state government and the police asking them to submit documentary evidence in the next hearing.

Tamil media is agog with the news that driver Dharmananda, who has filmed the Nithyananda-Ranjitha sex tapes, has admitted it as a fact. Nithyananda and Ranjitha in separate statements have condemned the news terming entirely false and as handiwork of their enemies. Nithyananda, who is taking holy dip in Kumbha mela and took up 'mouna-vratha', professed that whoever is making this false propaganda will definitely be punished bifittingly. Inmates of Swami Nithyananda's Dhyanapeetam Ashram are neither in a position to deny nor confirm whether the swami was indeed the person who was seen with a woman in the video clippings.

On Monday, Ashram inmates Swami Nitya Sacchidananda, Swami Nitya Jnanananda and Swami Nitya Pranananda jointly said: "We cannot confirm positively whether it is true or it is not true."

When it came to Tamil actress Ranjeeta, whose name was associated with the tapes, Swami Sacchidananda said she was just a devotee. "She used to visit the ashram for yoga courses seven months ago, and she is a devotee. Beyond this point, we can't say anything," he said.

IT'S A CONSPIRACY

The Ashram inmates termed the entire scandal a conspiracy carried out with `surgical precision'. "Some blogs got wind of the tapes two weeks before they were aired. We also have information that CDs were distributed to senior police officers and politicians hours before the telecast. We realized this when we went to them for help after the clippings were aired," the inmates said.

On the statement of the swami's former driver, Lenin, that a hidden camera in the air purifier was used for recording the `bedroom scene', Swami Sacchidananda said it was impossible for a single person to carry out an operation of this magnitude. "This matter will be thoroughly investigated; ashram inmates don't have complete details as of now."

Swami Sacchidananda said he can't speculate on allegations of a land dispute between the swami and the Maran family in Tamil Nadu, which resulted in the sting operation.

RAPE CHARGES

On charges of rape levelled by a 23-year-old brahmacharini, Swami Sacchidananda sought the woman's identity. "When the entire world is seeing, whom should she fear? Anybody can level allegations anonymously," he added.
