According to Filmnagar sources, a rumour is circulating fast that collection king Mohan Babu's son Manchu Manoj Kumar fell in love with a Vizag girl. It is said that the girl belongs to a rich 'Kapu' family. Already Mohan Babu's eldest son Vishnuvardhan married Veronika hailing from Reddy community and Manchus belong to Kamma community. This way, filmnagar sources say that, all the three strongest communities Kamma, Kapu and Reddy co-exist in Manch household. Allu Arjun and Manoj's 'Vedam' launched

Director Rajamouli sounds clapboard on Allu Arjun and Manchu Manoj for Vedham muhurat shot

Director Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi aka Krish’s second film, Vedam, was launched today (June 12, 2009) at a special ceremony held at Cinemax Theatre in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The film has Allu Arjun, Manoj Kumar, Anushka and Manoj Bajpayee in the lead roles. Vedam is going to set new trends in Telugu with its unusual cast. The film is produced by Arka Media that also produces Rajamouli’s next - Maryada Ramanna. M M Keeravani is providing the music.
 
Several guests from Tollywood including the lead cast Allu Arjun and Manoj, veteran director K Raghavendra Rao, Tammareddy Bharadwaja, S S Rajamouli, M M Keeravani and others graced the ceremony. The muhurat shot was done on Allu Arju and Manoj.
 
How the film happened..
 
“I wanted to make Krishnam Vande Jagadugurum with Venkatesh but the script could not reach to the level of ‘great’ script, so I decided to drop it off and started working on this Vedam. I wanted to make this film with five characters with all newcomers. One days, Allu Arjun called on me for a lunch and during that he expressed his desire to work with me. I told him that I am on this film with newcomers and narrated him this line. He was really impressed with it and said that he would do this movie. I said no as I am planning it with newcomers but he was persistent. He then suggested Manchu Manoj’s name, I was shocked but I knew he would be correct for another role. And things began falling in place in April this year. Allu Arjun is lover of good cinema.
When I told Manoj this line, he said that he would not care about the length of the role and would stick to the bound script. He is good human being. Then I should thank Anushka for accepting this bold role. She loved her character and immediately said okay. That is how this mutli-starrer came into realization,” said director Radhakrishna.

Allu Arjun said that he believes the script is the film’s hero. “Why I have accepted this film is because of the script and second Krish is a good natured man and everyone likes him. That is we all came together putting aside our personal egos,” he said.

Tagline: Love at first sight

Strengths: Comedy

Weaknesses: Nothing

Highlights: 

1. Janardhan telling a faction story (Ugra Naram) to his friend and Brahmanandam adding more masala to it.

2. Scenes between Tamim and Kalpika

My analysis: Prayanam movie is a very short and sweet love story which takes place in an airport. Comedy is the highlight and the main strength of the movie. Director Chandrasekhar Yeleti has selected a love story and added comedy to it the result of which has comeout well.

The movie is fast and racy because the entire movie is of only 2 hrs duration. Prayanam movie is sure to be successful because right now there are no other movies which can give a competition to it.

Performances: Manoj Kumar Manchu does the role of an hyper active kid who falls in love with a girl at first sight. He gave a good performance in this role. It looks as if we  are seeing a cartoon character when see the acting of Manoj in Prayanam.

New girl Harika looks cute and has nothing much to act expect for walking all aroud the airport.

The highlight of the movie is comedy king Brahmanandam who once again excells in his role and makes the audience laugh, laugh and laugh.

Both the friends of Manoj, Janardhan and Tamim did a decent job in their roles. The heroine’s friend Kalpika is also good.

Music by Mahesh Shankar is average. It goes with the tempo of the movie.

Three cheers to Chandrasekhar Yeleti for making a decent film like Prayanam. His story, screenplay and direction are all commendable. He shot the entire film in an airport but never made the audience bored about it. He selected a cute love story and added nice comedy to it in the form of Brahmanandam.

Chandra Sekhar Yeleti proved once again that he is a film maker and not a money maker.

Story: Dhruv ( Manoj Kumar) and Harika (Harika) are two Indian tourists who are returning from Malaysia to India. They meet each other in Kaulalampur International Airport and Dhruv loves Harika in first sight. The remaining movie is all about how Dhruv wins his lady love.

Allu Arjun and Anushka in 'Vedham'

Director Krish who won rave reviews and accolades for his debut film - Gamyam has roped in an unusual cast for his next film titled Vedham. This casting coup will be talked about for a long time and it definitely ushers in a new trend in Tollywood. Yes, he has roped in Allu Arjun, sexy actress Anushka and Manoj in his next film as lead actors. There would be actors as well but they play lead roles. Please take note that they are not going to do ‘guest appearances’ but ‘lead roles’. Again, Anushka and Allu Arjun not paired opposite each other. They are doing prime characters along with another hero Manchu Manoj. This is multi-starrer in the truest sense. 
 
The film is to be launched on June 7th. Producer Shobu Yarlagadda and Devineni Prasad are producing it on Arka Media banner. M M Keeravani is scoring the music to the lyrics of Seetharama Shastry and ES Murthy. Currently music sittings are on. Cinematographer Jnanashekar who has handled the camera for Housefull is filming it.
