Asin Is To Choose Puri Next

Having tasted success in Bollywood with Bbudah Höga Baap Terra, director Puri Jagannath has already started working on his second Hindi project.


And this time, his eyes fixed on Ghajini Asin girl.


"Puri was offered Asin the lead role in his second Hindi business. He met the actress and she would have given the green light if it is still to sign on the dotted line," said a source.

Several Tamil Associations have come in the way of the release of Asin-Vijay starred Tamil movie "Kaavalan". The reason is said to be Asin's trip to Sri Lanka sometime ago. It's said that Asin visited Sri Lanka in spite of the ban imposed by Tamil associations.  The miffed associations then vowed to stop release of Asin's movies. However, when a prominent Tamil person asked Asin to write a letter to the associations stating that she likes Tamil people very much and he would see to it that the ban on her films is lifted. The Ghajini star surfaced at an event as a distorted version of herself. Her lips, especially, appeared remarkably different. The actress was at the special screening of Academy award-winner Lawrence Bender's documentary Countdown To Zero held at an Andheri multiplex. Her face had telltale signs of cosmetic help. But a source close to Asin maintains, "She has been working out and has lost weight and this reflects on her face. Moreover, she was not feeling too well but went for the event as she has known Lawrence Bender for a while."Asin had received a special invitation from Bender for the screening. She was introduced to him through a common friend and has met him several times in the past. Despite repeated attempts, Asin remained unavailable for comment.

Asin to do Arundhati?

Madhu Mantena, cousin to Ram Gopal Varma, hit the gold with the remake of Ghazini in Hindi. He co-produced it with Geeta Arts. To continue the hit streak, he plans to remake Arundhati into Hindi. He is currently negotiating with producer Shyam Prasad Reddy for the remake rights. Arundhati, starring Anushka and Sonu Sood, is turning out to be biggest hit in the recent times in Tollywood. 
 
Madhu Mantena wants to remake it with the help of Shyam Prasad Reddy. He plans to rope in Asin again for this remake too. He has good bond with Asin and he believes that she’d do the justice to the role.

Asin remuneration is 2 crores

Kerala babe Asin who once acted in many telugu movies is right now busy doing movies in tamil has yet another time increased her price from 1 crore to 2 crores. She is also doing a hindi movie titled Gazini with Aamir Khan which is yet to release. This movie is a remake of tamil superhit film Gazini in which Aasin played the heroine role.

In Tamil industry, Aasin has joined hands with hero Vijay and gave continous hits Pokiri and Sivakasi because of which she has raised he remuneration from 1 crore to 2 crores. Because of this increase in fes, Asin is being considered as the no 1 heroine of South Indian Film industry.

There is one good and one bad point for this increase in rates of Aasin. The good point is that, thank God she is not doing any telugu movies, if so, our producers had to pay 2 crores just for the heroine in their movies.

The one problem with this increase in Asin fees is that other big heroines like Nayanatara and Ileana are likely to increase their rates also from 1.2 crore and 1 crore respectively to 2 crores to stand no 1 in the race of heroines which would create a problems for telugu producers because these two heroines are acting in many telugu movies.

Asin rejecting south indian film offers

The rumors of Asin doing a Tamil film have been in the grapevine for some time. When contacted Asin in Mumbai, who was getting ready for her London Dreams, with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, she said, "No, I have not signed any film down south. As of now, for the next six months, I am very busy,I have to complete London Dreams and the promotions of Ghajini will start from October.I had to opt out of Priyadarshan's film due to lack of dates this year."

The buzz is that Asin may be doing another Hindi film, with a top director and hero in February and later in 2009 she has signed up to do 19 Steps produced by Warner Brothers and directed by Bharath Bala. She simply has no dates at the moment to do films down south.

Asin set to storm bollywood with Ghazini

Asin Thottu-mkal, in the manner of Hema Malini, Rekha and Sridevi, is set to storm Hindi films with Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan after conquering Telugu and Tamil cinema.

Ask her if she is set to become next big Bollywood’s diva from the South, and the actress giggles in embarrassment, “I’m a long way from getting anywhere near Hema, Rekha and Sridevi. But I feel hugely welcome in Mumbai. I don’t know why filmmakers are showing so much interest in me.”
Spirited, spunky and beautiful, Asin (pronounced Ah-sin) shows a sense of humour when she explains her name: “Asin is coined from Sanskrit and English. It means ‘sinless’... like ‘Amala’... without blemish. I hope I live up to my name in Mumbai.”

For now, Mumbai is her home. “But only because my immediate commitments are in Mumbai,” she clarifies. “I’m the brand ambassador for six multi-national companies and the ads need to be shot in Mumbai. Now there are Hindi films too.”
Fortunately, Asin speaks Hindi without that Southern twang that is even now so pronounced in Hema. “I’ve never used a dubbing artiste for any of my films, not even for the Hindi ads, and I’m speaking in my own voice in my first Hindi film Ghajini,” she claims.

“In these days of globalisation, I don’t think language is a barrier. I’m interested in films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and any other language as long as the projects are exciting.”
She’s aware her shift to Mumbai has given rise to rumours that she’s giving up on South Indian cinema. “That’s untrue,” says Asin defensively. “Whatever I’m today is because of Tamil and Telegu cinema. Why am I expected to choose between Mumbai and the South?”

Aamir finally goes Bald

The latest one being that he has gone bald for his forthcoming film Ghajini, with the southern sensation Asin and the Bollywood hottie Jiah Khan paired opposite him.

He going bald had become the talk of the town for quite some time now. And the ‘day‘ decided was his Birthday, which eventually got postponed. Now the D-Day (or is it the B-Day- Bald Day) arrived on Thursday when ‘Mr. Perfect‘ Aamir ultimately bid good bye to his much loved hair, in the presence of his near and dear ones. And the person instrumental in this was the renowned celebrity hair stylist Avan Contractor, and the location was Aamir‘s residence in Bandra. The ‘USP‘ of this one and a half an hour ‘balding session‘ was that, at the end of it all, at the behest of Aamir, Avan created a scar with the razor on Aamir‘s head!

It looks quite ironical that it was the same Aamir who had gone full fledged with his locks in Mangal Pandey: The Rising. And now it is the same Aamir who has gone bald, though the common factor remains that both of these ‘hairstyles‘ were not an overnight decision.
