My analysis:

Veedokkade movie is a perfect action entertainer with all the necessary elements of commercial success. The only drawback for this movie is it is an out and out tamil movie with complete tamil flavour in it. This will be the only reason for the failure of this movie in telugu.

Director KV Anand selected a good story and executed it on screen in an even  better way so that the audience will not be bored while watching the movie. The first half of the movie is entertaining with perfect smuggling scenes, hero-heroine romance and plenty of action sequences. The second half is little dragging with all the emotional and action sequences but the audience will not feel bored because of the racy screenplay and perfect direction.

Performances:

Surya acted perfectly for the role of an educated smuggler who does his job for thrill and adventure. He excelled in giving the perfect emotions and feelings in all the required sequences. Surya also developed a six-pack body which suited him perfectly. This body also helped him for the action sequences (mainly those fights involving negros) in creating the natural effect in his punches. The body also gave him an angry young man look which was required for the role in the movie. Surya should also be commended for learning Yamasaki fights for Veedokkade movie.

Tamannah looks good as the lady love of Surya. She is shown as a modern middle-class college going girl. The director also showed Tamannah more glamorously when compared with her earlier movies.

Prubhu was good in the role of God-father for Surya.

Jagan who acted as the friend of Surya was decent.

Debutant villan Akashdeep acteded aptly for the role.

Fight master Kanal Khannan should be appreciated for his action sequences in the movie. He should mainly be appreciated for the first fight in Africa and the chase sequence in Malaysia.

Cinematograghy by MS Prabhu is good. He captured the locations of Africa in perect style and elegance.

Music by Harris Jayaraj is ok. The first song is the only song which will be remembered by the audience when they come out of the theatere.

Story, screenplay and direction by KV Anand are the most attractive things in Veedokkade movie. Anand selected a perfect commercial story and brought it on screen with all the necesary commerial payoffs and emotions like action, adventure, romance, sentiment and friendship. KV Anand should be appreciated for his research in smuggling techniques and also for shooting them in perfect manner.

Producers M Sarvanan, MS Guhan, Aprna Guhan and Aruna Guhan are making 174th film on their AVM Productions banner which is named as Veedokkade. Surya and Tamanna are playing the lead roles in this movie.

Veedokkade is a tamil and telugu bi-lingual movie which is being made simultaneously and is getting ready for an April release. This movie is a love and action oriented film which is shot in Africa and Tanzania. KV Anand is directing the film. Music is by Harris Jayaraj, fights are by Kannal kannan, dialogues are by Sri Rama Krishna and dances are by Dinesh.

Surya s/o Krishnan release postponed to November 14th

Surya, Sameera Reddy and Simran starrer Surya s/o Krishnan release is postponed from Diwali date to November 14th. Now the film will be releasing on 14th November ie Children’s day. Earlier the makers of this movie thought to release during Diwali festival along with other movies. This movie is directed by Goutham Menon who earlier directed Kakha Kakha and Raghavan in tamil.

The postponement of release was because Dil Raju who bought the distribution rights of telugu version of Surya s/o Krishnan felt that November 14th is a better day for release than releasing during the Diwali festival with other movies. The tamil version of this movie will also be releasing on the same day.

So, how does she spend time now that films have taken a backseat? “I am much busier than I was,” she says, “Babysitting is a 24x7 job and requires a lot of work. Diya simply cannot sleep without me and demands attention…. After a point, I got irritated by the kind of dedication he was showing. But yes, the character demanded it and I’m proud that he worked so hard.”

'Ghazini’ Surya as Son of Krishnan

Tamil actor Surya has a good following in Andhra Pradesh too after the stupendous success of Ghazini. Since then his Tamil films are regularly being dubbed into Telugu. His latest Tamil film, Vaaranam Aayiram, is also having its Telugu release and the Telugu version is titled Surya S/0 Krishnan. Directed by Gowtham Menon, the film stars Sameera Reddy, Simran and Ramya as the female lead while Surya plays dual roles. Aaskar Ravichandran produces the movie which has music scored by Gowtham’s favorite Haaris Jayaraj. Dil Raju has bought the exhibition rights for Nizam area for a whopping amount.
It is scheduled for Deepavali release and the music is hit the markets on Vijayadasami
