Rajnikant: 'If God wants, will join politics tomorrow'

With mounting pressure from his fans, Tamil Superstar Rajnikant finally met his fans on Monday (Nov 3rd) at Raghavendra Mandapam in Chennai. Although he spoke at length and replied to all the queries of his fans, he maintained same stance of his on politics. He reiterated that he would jump into the political arena if God wills so. "If God wants, I can take the political plunge even tomorrow. The country is not in a good position now. Let’s see. God is there," he said.
This has been his stand for a long time but extended an assurance that he would help his fans get ‘proper recognition’ and would not leave them.
He also asked his fans to take care of their family first and then involve in other activities.
Rajni-Kamal to participate in protest
The Nadigar Sangam will observe a fast tomorrow to protest against the killing of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka. The participation of the twin stalwarts of Kollywood – Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan – was doubtful until today. But now both have confirmed their participation in the Nadigar Sangam’s protests to be held on November 1st. But they have requested Nadigar Sangam not to force them to talk at the protest. In fact, they have also requested Nadigar Sangam to preclude anyone from airing their thoughts as one would be overwhelmed with emotions at the juncture and might end up saying something untoward at the venue. Coincidentally, the Tamil Nadu Government too has requested the Nadigar Sangam to hold a silent protest.
Actors Ajith and Vijay too have suggested that Nadigar Sangam hold a silent protest. And there are many other actors in Kollywood who agree. Meanwhile, a huge dais has been erected at Nadigar Sangam office in preparation for this fast indicating there would be scope for persons to speak. But it might not go beyond a vote of thanks from Nadigar Sangam officials.
It is to be noted that directors Ameer and Seeman were arrested on charges that their speech during the Rameshwaram protest (staged by Directors’ Council) was in total conflict with Indian laws defining freedom of speech. They have been subsequently released on bail.
Rajni warns fans with legal action
Super star Rajnikanth warned his fans to take legal action against them and cancel the primary membership of his fans association if they any political activities by using his name.

Rajini to discuss politics with fans
The big question has arisen once more. Will Rajinikanth finally take the political plunge or not? "If I am ordained by God to don the role of a politician, I will do it," he said in his usual style. After returning from Peru
"We will know the date of our meeting with Rajini Sir on Monday," said Om Sekar, president of Chennai wing of Rajini fans’ associations. A meeting of district presidents of fans’ associations from across the state with state president of fans’ clubs Mr Sathyanarayana earlier this month led to this prospective meeting of the fans with their beloved star.
While the fans are aflutter about the outcome of the meeting, the city is flooded with posters seeking Rajinikanth’s political entry. "Thalaiva Vaa, Thalamaiyerka Vaa" (Come Our Leader, Come and Lead Us) they exhort the reluctant superstar. "Even the flag of Rajini fans’ clubs was never formally launched by our Thalaivar (leader). They are not even the same across various districts," Mr Ganesan, another fan pointed out.
Sources said that the official launch of a flag of Rajini fan clubs and a social organisation could happen at the meeting to be held anytime after October 1. "Our leader will not disappoint us this time," hoped Rajendran, a senior functionary of the fans’ associations in the city. Recently Rajini had expunged at least two dialogues in which he disowned his association with politics from the film Kuselan following requests from the fans’ clubs.
Rajinikanth rushed back home to check dip in popularity
The star is scheduled to prepare for a series of meetings with the organisers of his fan clubs, All India Rajnikant Fans' Association president satyanarayana said in a pressnote. Sources close to Rajnikant's family said his wife Latha was mulling a more active role in organising the fan clubs a la Premlatha, actor-turned-politician

In a recent interview, Satyanarayana denied rumours indicating that he was a stumbling block in the path of the movie icon's entry into politics. The ruling DMK's victory in 1996 is largely attributed to Rajnikant who had contributed sizeably to electoral alliance of the late G.K. Moopanar-led Tamil Manila Congress and M. Karunanidhi.The Tamil Manila Congress (TMC) also procured the cycle symbol to cash in on the popularity of a 1996 release "Annamalai" starring Rajnikant. The star had agreed to the use of photographs of him riding a cycle in the movie election posters of the TMC. The AIADMK was routed in the elections. Then chief minister Jayalalitha lost her seat in the 1996 assembly elections.
Rajni to mediate between Babu and Chiru
Superstar Rajnikanth and megastar Chiru are very god friends. Rajnikanth and Babu are also very close friends. So both Chiru and Babu attended the film launch function of Rajnikanth in Hyderabad the other day.
But Babu and Chiru may become political rival once Chiranjeevi launches his political party. But they did not show any sign of awkwardness or discomfort at the function. They both seemed to share a good rapport.
Analysts now say that there could be some secret understanding between Babu and Chiru This may have come about with the help of Rajnikanth. Even if Chiru and Babu fight the next assembly elections separately, Babu can count on the support of Chiru if he falls short of a majority.
Rajnikanth is said to have assured Babu that he would convince Chiranjeevi to support him in such eventuality.

Ace director Shankar’s magnum opus with Tamil superstar Rajnikant, Robot, is currently shooting two songs in Machu Pichu in Peru. Rajnikant and Aishwarya Rai are singing duets in this foreign land. Despite far from the paparazzi, the film’s shooting pics have been leaked. Six photos of the movie have found their way into Peru-based newspapers and therefore, to India, despite the director prohibiting even the use of mobile fans at the shooting spot to prevent photos from being leaked.
Remember photos of Shivaji’s foreign shoot were also leaked in similar way two years ago.

Rajnikanth is holding discussions with producers on the issue of reimbursing the loss that the theatres had incurred by screening Kuchelan.
Kamalhassan has denied that that he has written the story and script and is also directing the film. This huge budgeted film is being produced by his own production unit Raj Kamal in a joint venture wIth Pyramid Sai Meera Groups. The film will be on a par with international standards
Rajnikanth to compensate Rs.100 mn to distributors
Tamil superstar Rajnikant will compensate distributors of his film "Kuselan", which did not fare well at the box office, to the tune of Rs.100 mn, sources close to the actor said.
A spokesman for the distribution company Pyramid Saimira, which is showing the film across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, said the movie had so far collected Rs.210 mn.
He was confident of "Kuselan" covering the costs of Rs.600 mn before being taken off theatres.
The company, however, was noncommittal about accepting the compensation.
While the star did not charge any fee from the Tamil producer and his mentor K. Balachander, the Telugu version's producers had paid Rajnikant a fee of Rs.100 mn.
The movie icon had on Friday recommended several cuts to improve the collections of the movie. The matinee idol had extended a similar courtesy after one of his earlier films "Baba" ran into huge losses.
Rajinikanth as Pawan Kalyan
Kamal Haasan’s Dasavatharam (also spelt Dasavathaaram) wowed the entire nation. Now, the buzz is that Rajinikanth will appear in 20 different costumes in a single song. The song has been picturised on Rajinikanth and Nayantara in his forthcoming Kathanayakudu.
The great news for his fans is that all the 20 costumes would be from his previous films, so they can all have a great time, identifying his different styles or ‘avataars’! Not only that, for his Telugu audiences, Rajni will also come as Pawan Kalyan in Jalsa.

Actress Shriya slaps molester in Tirupati
South Indian actress Shreya Saran was allegedly molested by an employee of a Hindu monastery during a visit to the famed Tirupati temple. The actress slapped the man and handed him over to her security guards. The actress, who co-starred with Tamil superstar Rajnikant in last year‘s blockbuster ‘Shivaji - The Boss‘, was allegedly molested in full public view when she was returning after offering prayers at the temple, some 180 km north of here, early Monday. Shreya did not file a police complaint.The incident was repeatedly beamed on television channels late Tuesday. ‘The man misbehaved with me just as I was coming out of the temple. I slapped him and my security personnel did the rest. I firmly believe that every molestation victim should do what I did,‘ the actress was quoted as saying.
According to police sources who talked on phone from Tirupati, the transgressor was identified as Hari. Hari, who is working in a monastery located near the temple, was handed over to the local police by the Shreya‘s assistants. The man has since been released, as there is no case because of the absence of a complaint, sources added.
