KCR calls for Bandh in Andhra Pradesh, blames Chidambaram of betrayal

Alleging that the Centre had put the Telangana issue in the cold storage, the Telangana leaders decided to step up the agitation for separate state. They called for a 48-hour bandh across Telangana on Thursday and Friday.
TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao said all the public representatives including MPs, MLAs and MLCs of Telangana region, cutting across the party lines, would resign from their posts and intensify the agitation. “We have decided to form a joint action committee (JAC) and all the agitations henceforth will take place under the aegis of JAC,” KCR said.
Former home minister K Jana Reddy said there was no clarity in the Chidambaram statement and hence, demanded that there should be a categorical assurance on the formation of Telangana state.
“We will also speak to the TDP and other party leaders of Telangana and bring them into the JAC. We will chalk out our agitational programme on Thursday,” Jana Reddy said. He appealed to the people, students and all other sections of Telangana to carry forward the agitation in a peaceful manner, without causing any damage to the properties and making provocative statements.
Meanwhile, Students of Osmania University in Hyderabad and Kakatiya University in Warangal took to streets and raised slogans against the Centre for cheating the Telangana people once again.
