Pista Movie review | Shriya Vishal Pista Movie Review | Telugu Cinema Reviews

Tagline: One more Pandem Kodi
Strengths: Vishal and Prakash Raj
Weaknesses: Story
pista-1
My analysis: Pista movie is a routine action movie from Vishal like his earlier films Pandem Kodi, Bhayya etc. There is nothing new in the movie. The first half is little slow with establishment of characters and also with Vishal - Shreya love track. The second half is completely action packed with a routine and predictable climax. The interval twist is good.
Though Pista is a bi-lingual movie, it has more of tamil flavour than telugu because of which it might loose telugu audience patronage. Also we are getting to see same kind of mass masala action entertainers from Vishal which has nothing new to entertain the audience.
Performances: Vishal has nothing new to offer the audience. He has done the same mass oriented role in Pista also. His rugged look, his performance, his dialogue delivery all look the same as his earlier movies. He has to come out of his shell of action movies and try something new to entertain and enthrall the audience.
Zero size Shreya has showed a lot of oomph in the movie which will be an added asset to the movie. She has done a lot of skin show in Pista movie which will attract the mass audience.
Prakash Raj as the bad man has excelled in his role. It is nice to see him as villan after Pokiri movie. Kishore who acted as the other gangster is also good.
Others are just ok in their roles.
untitled-2
Music by Mani Sharma is average and doesnt create any effect on the audience.
The entire credit for the failure of Pista movie should be given to director Saba Ayyappa for his weak and routine story selection and bad direction. Saba’s routine story and weak direction couldnt utilize the acting talents of Vishal, Shriya, Prakash Raj, Tanikella Bharani, Shiyyaji Shinde etc resulting in a dud.
Story: Murali Krishna (Vishal) reaches Visakhapatnam in search of his elder brother Rambabu to make his mother (Geetha) happy. He meets Indu (Shriya) and falls in love with her. He also meets two rowdies Guru (Kishore) and Surya Prakash (Prakash Raj) and develops a tug with both of them. How he meets his brother and what he does to take his brother back to village forms the remaining part of the story.

Cast: Vishal, Shriya, Prakash Raj, Kishore, Tanikella Bharani, Lal, Ali, MS Narayana, Shiyyaji Shinde, Geetha and many more.

Prayanam movie review | Manjoj Harika Movie Review | Telugu Movie Review

Tagline: Love at first sight
Strengths: Comedy
Weaknesses: Nothing
Highlights:
1. Janardhan telling a faction story (Ugra Naram) to his friend and Brahmanandam adding more masala to it.
2. Scenes between Tamim and Kalpika
untitled-21
My analysis: Prayanam movie is a very short and sweet love story which takes place in an airport. Comedy is the highlight and the main strength of the movie. Director Chandrasekhar Yeleti has selected a love story and added comedy to it the result of which has comeout well.
The movie is fast and racy because the entire movie is of only 2 hrs duration. Prayanam movie is sure to be successful because right now there are no other movies which can give a competition to it.
Performances: Manoj Kumar Manchu does the role of an hyper active kid who falls in love with a girl at first sight. He gave a good performance in this role. It looks as if we  are seeing a cartoon character when see the acting of Manoj in Prayanam.
New girl Harika looks cute and has nothing much to act expect for walking all aroud the airport.
The highlight of the movie is comedy king Brahmanandam who once again excells in his role and makes the audience laugh, laugh and laugh.
Both the friends of Manoj, Janardhan and Tamim did a decent job in their roles. The heroine’s friend Kalpika is also good.
prayanam-2
Music by Mahesh Shankar is average. It goes with the tempo of the movie.
Three cheers to Chandrasekhar Yeleti for making a decent film like Prayanam. His story, screenplay and direction are all commendable. He shot the entire film in an airport but never made the audience bored about it. He selected a cute love story and added nice comedy to it in the form of Brahmanandam.
Chandra Sekhar Yeleti proved once again that he is a film maker and not a money maker.
Story: Dhruv ( Manoj Kumar) and Harika (Harika) are two Indian tourists who are returning from Malaysia to India. They meet each other in Kaulalampur International Airport and Dhruv loves Harika in first sight. The remaining movie is all about how Dhruv wins his lady love.
prayanam-3
Cast: Manchu Manoj Kumar Babu, Harika, Brahmanandam, Janardhan, Tamim, Kalpika and few others.
Banner: Aaryaki Arts
Music: Mahesh Shankar

Kick Movie Review | Ravi Teja Kik Movie Review - Telugu Cinema Reviews

What's about!

Kalyan (Ravi Teja) is well-educated and intelligent guy but doesn’t stay in any job for long as he always seeks ‘kick’ in everything. A girl falls in love with him but his sister Naina (Ileana) scolds her for loving such reckless guy. Eventually Kalyan runs after Naina for love and romance blossoms between them. Naina asks Kalyan to stick to one job if he wants her love. He gets a job that makes Naina happy and she decides to express her love towards him. At the same time, she gets to know that he already quit the job and that makes her heartbroken and they separate. She now stays in Malaysia. A police officer Kalyan Krishna (Shaam) enters the scene. Naina’s parents arrange marriage alliance with him who comes on a mission to Malaysia. He is on the mission of nabbing an intelligent thief who is none other than Kalyan (Ravi Teja). Rest of the movie is all about why Kalyan becomes thief and the cat and mouse game between Kalyan and the police officer.

Analysis
Kick is modeled on the lines of Dhoom 2 and other cop-thief dramas but it is told in entertaining way. Rather than on the action, the film has completely focused on entertainment and Ravi Teja’s core strength of comedy style. Director Surender Reddy who is known for making films on revenge dramas has changed his pattern with this film. The first half focuses on the love track between Ileana and Ravi Teja and the comedy scenes between Ravi Teja and Brahmanadam, while the second half changes tracks as it transforms into a cat-n-mouse game between Ravi Teja and Shaam. Invariably, the movie strength lies in first half of the movie, which is more entertaining. Pace in the second half slows down but towards the climax, the movie gives okay feeling. Unlike in Hindi movies, here a sentiment angle is added to Ravi Teja’s robbery act. Such reason and other sequences defy the logic but on the whole, the movie is worth a dekko. Music is big minus. None of the songs are good to listen.
Performances
Ravi Teja cakewalks into his character of smart thief. His comedy act with Brahmanandam as well as his teasing romantic scenes with Ileana is interesting. But he needs to take care on his looks. Ileana has slightly put on weight that makes her sexy now. Her physique looks so good. Yet, her face in the movie is looked oily. She
has played hyperactive role in the movie and her performance is neat. Tamil actor Shaam is handsome and is fitted perfectly to the cop role. He has done fine job. Brahmanandam takes the care of all the comedy in the movie. Ravi Teja and Brahamanandam’s comedy is like extension of what they did in Krishna. The girl who played the role of Ileana sister is there only as ‘showpiece’.

Cinematography by Rasool Ellore is neat. Some of the dialogues by Abburi Ravi are impressive but on the whole just okay. Director Surender Reddy is tried best to move the movie with comedy and succeeds to the most part. He should have taken more care in the second half. He has shown his weakness in music department once again. Music director S S Thaman (Malli Malli fame) has badly done his job. Neither the songs nor the recording is impressive. It is extensively shot in Malaysia and the production values are good.

Bottom-line Kick is presented in entertaining way. Director Surender Reddy focuses on comedy rather than his brand of action. Entertaining first half and Ravi Teja - Brahmanandam comedy episodes are main strength. Music is big letdown but the film is good time pass.

Rating: 3.25/5

Allu Arjun and Anushka in 'Vedham'

Director Krish who won rave reviews and accolades for his debut film - Gamyam has roped in an unusual cast for his next film titled Vedham. This casting coup will be talked about for a long time and it definitely ushers in a new trend in Tollywood. Yes, he has roped in Allu Arjun, sexy actress Anushka and Manoj in his next film as lead actors. There would be actors as well but they play lead roles. Please take note that they are not going to do ‘guest appearances’ but ‘lead roles’. Again, Anushka and Allu Arjun not paired opposite each other. They are doing prime characters along with another hero Manchu Manoj. This is multi-starrer in the truest sense.

The film is to be launched on June 7th. Producer Shobu Yarlagadda and Devineni Prasad are producing it on Arka Media banner. M M Keeravani is scoring the music to the lyrics of Seetharama Shastry and ES Murthy. Currently music sittings are on. Cinematographer Jnanashekar who has handled the camera for Housefull is filming it.

'Vinaykudu' Krishnudu is very ‘Amayakudu’!

Krishnudu who shot to fame with super hit Vinayakudu is flooding with several offers. Although he is obese, his physical figure and his comic acting style getting him good chances. He is already acting with another film with Vinaykudu director and another with Sonia.

Now a Tamil director Parvathi Ganesh is directing him in a flick titled Amayakudu (means ‘innocent’). A new group of Tamil producers are producing it. It will be launched shortly.

Raja and Namitha’s ‘underwater romance’

Raja and Namitha is going to do a very sizzling romantic scene in Jaganmohini. What is more, they would be romancing underwater. Namitha, the queen of oomph, plays the title role in the movie and Raja and Namitha have gone under training for this sequence. This under-water sequence is to be shot in Mumbai from May 10 - 12th. The film is expected to hit the screens in the last week of June. K.Viswanathan is directing it.

Ravi Teja speaks about his love life

Ravi Teja who is ready with his next release titled as KIKK is all set to don a mass oriented role in the movie “Anjaneyulu”. The Andhra Amitabh is donning the role of corporate employee in a Television channel HMTV.
Nayantara who is well known for her revealing skins how will be seen in village belly role and the director of “Yuvatha” fame will be carving this movie into shape. Speaking about the movie, on the sets of “Anjaneyulu” Ravi teja revealed some of his sweet memories of his life. He disclosed that he was in love with his schoolmate who also reciprocated the same in his school days. But due to his non attendance in school later on the love faded.
After that, Ravi Teja fell in love with one of a Hyderabad girl who was initially just a professional friend. But then the relationship turned into a mild love bond which ended when her parents rejected the love proposal of Ravi teja.
Ravi rubbished the rumors that he was in love with his fashion designer and even said that the media ruined the life of the poor girl. He disclosed that her parents were also in a thought that she was really in love with the mass hero. But now, he says that everything is solved and clearly settled.

Mahesh reveals a truth about his life

Prince Mahesh who feels a bit irritated when called as a prince now has finally opened up and has cleared the air. Accruing to the media, Mahesh and Namrata were not on talking terms from the past 6 months. The reason was said to be a business issue which created a misunderstanding.
Reacting to this rumor, Mahesh revealed that there is no truth in this and is a baseless and false rumor. He revealed that a few months back Namrata approached him as she wanted to start a business in mid 2009 their son was a bit grown up now. Mahesh suggested that she shout establish the business in Hyderabad rather than Goa and a bit heated argument took place in between them.

He also disclosed that the argument was peacefully solved the same night when he and Namrata sat and sorted out the issue. But this matter somehow leaked to the media and a mega rumor was spread on this basis. Namrata Shirodhkar fell in love with Mahesh and the couple was in a love bond for 5 years before marriage. So, Mahesh clarifies that a strong bond like this cannot be so brittle to break. He also hinted that he grew up hating his father as he fell in love with actress Vijaya Nirmala and was living with her. So, he concluded that his son will never see such a day in his life.

Veedokkade movie review | Telugu Cinema Movie Reviews

Cinegola rating: ***__ Watchable (3 stars)
Cinegola points: 3 out of 5
Tagline: Smuggle in style
Strengths: Surya, story, screenplay and direction
Weaknesses: Slightly dragging second half
veedokkade-1
My analysis:
Veedokkade movie is a perfect action entertainer with all the necessary elements of commercial success. The only drawback for this movie is it is an out and out tamil movie with complete tamil flavour in it. This will be the only reason for the failure of this movie in telugu.
Director KV Anand selected a good story and executed it on screen in an even  better way so that the audience will not be bored while watching the movie. The first half of the movie is entertaining with perfect smuggling scenes, hero-heroine romance and plenty of action sequences. The second half is little dragging with all the emotional and action sequences but the audience will not feel bored because of the racy screenplay and perfect direction.
Performances:
Surya acted perfectly for the role of an educated smuggler who does his job for thrill and adventure. He excelled in giving the perfect emotions and feelings in all the required sequences. Surya also developed a six-pack body which suited him perfectly. This body also helped him for the action sequences (mainly those fights involving negros) in creating the natural effect in his punches. The body also gave him an angry young man look which was required for the role in the movie. Surya should also be commended for learning Yamasaki fights for Veedokkade movie.
veedokkade-4
Tamannah looks good as the lady love of Surya. She is shown as a modern middle-class college going girl. The director also showed Tamannah more glamorously when compared with her earlier movies.
Prubhu was good in the role of God-father for Surya.
Jagan who acted as the friend of Surya was decent.
Debutant villan Akashdeep acteded aptly for the role.
veedokkade-3
Fight master Kanal Khannan should be appreciated for his action sequences in the movie. He should mainly be appreciated for the first fight in Africa and the chase sequence in Malaysia.
Cinematograghy by MS Prabhu is good. He captured the locations of Africa in perect style and elegance.
Music by Harris Jayaraj is ok. The first song is the only song which will be remembered by the audience when they come out of the theatere.
Story, screenplay and direction by KV Anand are the most attractive things in Veedokkade movie. Anand selected a perfect commercial story and brought it on screen with all the necesary commerial payoffs and emotions like action, adventure, romance, sentiment and friendship. KV Anand should be appreciated for his research in smuggling techniques and also for shooting them in perfect manner.
