The chief minister announced in New Delhi that he had asked all the state government advisors to resign and submit their papers immediately to chief secretary S V Prasad. While almost all the advisors had already become inactive during the previous Rosaiah government for want of work, KVP continued to dominate the government and play the extra constitutional authority as advisor (public affairs), a post which he got during the regime of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
After Kiran took over as the chief minister, KVP tried to continue his dominance but Kiran refused to
entertain him. He, then, tried to influence the high command through Veerappa Moily but the thanks to the firm attitude of Kiran, Moily could not do anything. Finally, when KVP met Kiran in Delhi and tried to impress upon him, the latter bluntly told him to resign. Not only that, he made it public, much to the embarrassment of KVP!
