Amidst state-wide agitations to protest the humiliation allegedly meted out to the stormy petrel Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, as many as 40 MLAs were with the Kadapa MP, said Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose.
Bose is one of the close associates of Jaganmohan Reddy.
The Congress presently has 155 MLAs, not counting Y S Vijayalakshmi who has resigned on Monday. The government needs at least 148 MLAs to support it to survive and get through 'no trust' motion, if moved by the anti-government MLAs. Congress enjoys the support of 18 PRP MLAs, 7 MIM MLAs, and if rumours are to be believed, the 12 TRS MLAs will also support the government.
This is the Congress calculation. Meanwhile, the Jagan group is eyeing MIM, and at least 5 MLAs of the PRP and the TRS to bring down the government.
Meanwhile, Gali Janardhana Reddy, BJP leader from Karnataka, is believed to have entered the scene, making the situation even more interesting. Gali Janardhana Reddy was a close aid of Y S Rajashekhara Reddy, and a partner of YSR family in the Obulapuram mines project.
If the groundswell at Jaganmohan Reddy's residence is any indication, his support is increasing by the minute.
