The deputy chief minister post, which has been luring many an aspirant among the Telangana Congress MLAs, is most likely to go to Dalit leader from Medak Damodar Raja Narasimha.
Damodar’s name has more or less been finalized, according to reports from New Delhi. Another strong contender J Geetha Reddy’s name has been tipped for the post of Assembly Speaker. The third contender P Shankar Rao may have to remain content with the ministerial berth.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who finalized the list of cabinet ministers after a prolonged meeting with Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel and Veerappa Moily, told media that the swearing in ceremony would be held on Wednesday and that the names would be revealed only then. Except saying that the deputy chief minister would be from Telangana, he did not mention any names.
According to early reports, none of the Jagan supporters would find a place in the Kiran cabinet. A few important portfolios would remain with the chief minister, as he might have to include candidates from Praja Rajyam Party in the coming days, depending on the political developments!
