The Telugu film director N. Shankar will make a film on the Telangana agitations. The movie, which is yet to be titled, will cover all the issues on Telangana and the agitation since it started in 1920. Shooting of the film is to begin at the end of April. The director who hails from Nalgonda district has directed blockbuster films like Jayam Manadera starring Venkatesh, Sri Ramulaiah starring Mohanbabu and Bhadrachalam with Srihari in the lead. He has also been a jury member at the National Film Awards twice.
Sources said that the movie will have three main characters and will be a blend of commercial and topical themes. Actors in the film will be portraying the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the CM, Mr K. Rosaiah, and other politicians. Shankar said he will cast 64 new faces in the film which will include 15 minutes of footage on the agitation. Interestingly, T-activists recently staged a dharna in front of the AP Film Chamber of Commerce demanding that the Telugu Film Directors Association give Shankar the post of the executive president.
