Like always, producers whose films run in the theatres have come forward to tell the media that their films are suffering of rampant piracy. On Friday (Oct 17, 2008), producers of Kotta Bangaru Lokam, Chintakayala Ravi, Sowryam, and soon to be released Keka met media persons and expressed their anguish.
Producer Dil Raju whose Kotta Bangaru Lokam is presently in theatres appealed not to encourage piracy. "Please watch the movies in theatres and you would enjoy them to the fullest. Thousands of people are dependent on the industry," he said.
"If this is continued, no theatre in our state would be operational. I wonder what anti-piracy cell is actually doing despite they are getting money from our producers regularly," Anand Prasad, producer of Sowryam, asked.
Teja in his usual style said that he didn't even aware of the existence of anti-piracy cell. He said only when his son recently bought some pirated cds that he came to know what such cell is operating. "My film is releasing on 23rd of this month. I am ready to take the law into my hands if anyone indulges in piracy," he warned. Producer Bujji also participated in the meet.
