Super director Maniratnam is making a tri-lingual film in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. He has titled this movie as Ashoka Vanam in telgu and tamil and Ravan in hindi. The entire unit of Ashokavanam will start its shooting in Abroad in those cool ans sexy locations as the story demands. The shooting of this film will first start in the dense forests of Srilanka.
Vikram and Aishwarya Rai are playing the lead roles in telugu and tamil versions where as Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are playing the lead role Hindi Ravan. Prithvi Raj is the Ravan in tamil and telugu versions where as Vikram is doing the Ravan role in Hindi. Yester year hero Karthik who is known to telugu audience through Abhinandana and Anveshana is playing the role of Hanuman in Ashokavanam and Govinda is doing the same role in hindi version. Priyamani plays Soorpanaka role in the movie.
Ashokavanam is not exactly a Lord Sri Rama and Sita Ramanayam, but it is a complete commercial movie which will have Ramanayam immersed in the story. Maniratnam made a similar movie called Dalapathi with Mahabharat as the back drop. He has now selected Ramanayam as his next directorial venture.
