It has been a very bad season for Tollywood. From Dussera to Deepavali, the revenue for films have dwindled drastically and most of the movies released during this season ended up as losers. What is surprising is to see that a big star like Venkatesh’s movie - Chintakayala Ravi biting the dust. The film is supposedly an urban movie (or Multiplex film) but it is not even having decent run in A centers. In Prasads Multiplex, the movie is now having only one show in one screen in its fifth week. Already the film has suffered hugely from the reduction in prices of ticket rates. Adding salt to injury, the collections have completely come down. For distributors, it is flop.
Kotta Bangaru Lokam is just an average!
Dil Raju’s Kotta Bangaru Lokam got rave reviews but the movie is doing just an average business. Especially the business in Andhra Pradesh has taken a beating in its fifth weak. In Hyderabad and some coastal districts, it is doing fine. On the overall, it can be an average movie to above average grocer. Surprisingly, in overseas, the movie’s collections are contrary to the glowing reviews. Except in New Jersey and California, KBL has not made any profits to its distributors or exhibitors.
Big losers..
The recent movies Teja’s Keka and Nitin’s Hero, Sekhar Suri’s Three - all are utter flops.
Blade Babjee takes good openings...
Allari Naresh’s comedy Blade Babjee has emerged as winner. Its collections in all the three regions in Andhra Pradesh are impressive.
