Pakistani actor Veena Malik says that Ashmit Patel is just a good friend whom she can rely on for anything

Theyve been spotted hitting town together often,prompting rumours of a relationship.But B-town couple Veena Malik and Ashmit Patel,who were recently seen visiting the Ajmer Sharif Dargah,have managed to dodge questions about the status of their relationship,until now.BT quizzed Veena about her recent trip with Ashmit,and she clarified,I didnt go to Ajmer,I went to the Nizamuddin Auliya in Delhi to pray and Ashmit happened to be there for a friends wedding.Ashmit has a great regard for all religions and even in the Bigg Boss house we used to do namaz together.So he decided to come with me to the dargah.
Tell her that rumour mills are abuzz that she and Ashmit are all set to tie the knot next year and Veena is aghast.Ashmit is a good friend.Hes the guy I rely on for everything.In fact,Ashmit is my only friend in India.We are very close to each other and he cares for me,but I am not dating him.Just because we are seen together and hang out doesnt mean we are in love.There are,however,lots of things that we plan to do together,like charity work in Pakistan, she said and added,I am totally single.
On the workfront,Veena has wrapped up the shoot of her debut film,Daal Mein Kuch Kala Hai,in which she is doing an item number.Thereafter,Veena will be seen in a demure avatar in Zindagi 50-50 alongside Sayali Bhagat.Zindagi 50-50 is a film I have done for a reason.It is a womencentric film and addresses issues that women face these days, said Veena,adding that shes signed up for three other films.Its still early days to talk about these projects, she said.richa.bhatia@timesgroup.com
