At this point of time, no one can deny the involvement of B (Bhanu) Company in Tollywood, like D (Dawood) company in Bollywood. The activities that came into limelight after Maddelacheruvu Suri's death has unveiled the growing darker side of Telugu cinema industry. Freshly, top financier Singanamala Ramesh Babu was arrested in Chennai in connections with gangster Maddelacheruvu Suri's murder, as Suri was staying in Singanamala Ramesh's flat when he was brutally killed. Singanamala Ramesh is already quizzed by the state CID officials and are probing the case towards his links with Bhanu Kiran, the prime suspect of gangster Maddelacheruvu Suri murder. So going by all these, is there a B company in Tollywood?
One of the top producers, on the condition of anonymity said that C Kalyan and Singanala Ramesh have funded high budget Telugu and Tamil movies. They have been backed by gangsters in this connection. And that's not all, Kalyan and Singanala Ramesh even used criminal links to illegally encroach lands by threatening the original owners to expand their business.
There's also a strong version that Maddelacheruvu Suri funded Rakta Charitra, Komaram Puli, Kaleja and few other Telugu movies. Confessing the same, Telugu Film Producers' Council General Secretary T Prasanna Kumar said that Singanamala Ramesh and C Kalyan are amongst few producers having strong links to gangsters. The police are trying to find out the nexus between these financiers, Bhanu Kiran, Maddelacheruvu Suri and their involvement in funding the above mentioned movies.
Out of the approximately produced 300 Telugu movies every year, almost 10% of the movies come from top producers and the interesting question here being “is dirty money” being used in producing these movies? So will Singanamala Ramesh spill the beans? If so, we wonder how many big names from Tollywood are likely to come out!
