Teja has been shooting Keka for quite some days with rapid pace. The lead actors, the villain and the comedians are new actors, we are told. Executive producer Kethireddy Jagadeeswara Reddy reveals that this film is a triangle love story with two leading men falling for the same girl. Teja’s screenplay brings in a fresh feel without letting the audience feel a sense of déjÀ vu, he says. “The girl is engaged to the villain. He knows that the hero is in love with her. So he pretends that he is sacrificing his love to make the hero happy. And they all come here to celebrate.”
Teja has maintained absolute secrecy about his star cast throughout the making. Raja, son of veteran lyricist Seetharama Sastry, plays the hero. Every one calls him Raja on the sets and his full name is not revealed. Since there is already a hero by the same name, a colleague preferred to refer him as ‘Sirivennela’ Raja. Kanjana, a Mumbai model, plays the female lead and Anup is the villain. The rest of the actors are drawn from the star hunt contest held by Teja in association with Suresh Productions for a satellite television channel. “We are introducing 28 newcomers to the industry,” informs the director.
