Tall-dark-handsome hero Vishal says his forthcoming movie Sathyam(Salute in Telugu) will have Kollywood’s steamiest song ever.
He is paired with Nayanthara for the first time in Sathyam, and calls the lady a marvelous heroine. “Nayan is wow and we’re good friends now. But we were constantly at loggerheads throughout the movie’s shoot. I’ve nagged her so much that I thought she’d never ever do another movie with me,” he says, as Sathyam gears up for an audio launch later this month.
What he calls ‘nagging,’ he explains, were the suggestions to improve her look as the sex siren in the movie’s song Chellamey. The duet, composed by Harris Jayaraj, has been rendered by Madhu Balakrishnan and Bombay Jayashree.
“It’s the hottest song in Tamil cinema ever. I think we’ve done a good job,” he assures. The song had three elaborate sets, designed by Thottatharani, and was shot in AVM Studios.
“I suggested changes in her attire and it took time convincing her. She was tad apprehensive about how she could pull off such a song but the outcome has excited her,” he explains.
Also, it was to fit in the mood of this song that Nayanthara shed weight, under advice from Vishal’s trainer. Nayanthara plays a television presenter in the movie in which Vishal plays a cop. Kannada star Upendra also plays an important role in the movie, made at a budget of over Rs 26 crore.
This extravaganza, promising to be an altogether new take on a cop’s role, is being produced by GK Reddy Films. It is directed by debutante Rajasekar and RD Rajasekhar does the cinematography.
Vishal has not opted for any other movie after this and will be directing his next movie. Sathyam (and Salute, the Telugu version) will hit the screens on August 14.
