Unprecedented craze since a decade
Kalyan started his career in the tinsel world with that innocent looks juxtaposing the vigor of martial arts, one dozen years ago. Introducing him, sets of posters came up all over the state… with matter reading something like this: One poster questions… Evarithanu? The other answers: Ithane Kalyan! People thought this publcity was unwarranted, but planted deliberately as he being the beloved brother of the Megastar. Kalyan became Pawan Kalyan. Pawan came as the title from none other than the present TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu, after getting impressed with the actor's aerobics. Tammudu (1998) made Pawan Kalyan, a overnight sensation. The rest is the contemporary history. Perhaps, he is one and the only actor in Tollywood who continues to cast an unwavering spell on the audiences for the last one decade. There is no measurement to his craze. All 365 days, it is the same. With just a handful of films, he reached the enviable position – ruling the roost beyond the mark of a hit or flop.
Pawan Kalyan or Stampede?
Call it a boon or curse, the actor's public presence will turn into a turmoil. Pawan Kalyan means near stampede. At the recent Tirupati meet (of the Megastar), Pawan thought of doing his best. But, he withdrew his direct presence and moved into a cozy corner... just to control the massive crowds. The title Power Star seems to be justified in this sense. Why such a fanatical admiration for him? Its a mystery.
Justice for common man. Unending dream
If you talk about Pawan Kalyan, you find some special qualities attached to him. He is a sensation, and not a controversy. He is emotional, but not completely short-tempered. For the last several years, there continues to be a wide talk that he is influenced by India's famed monk Swami Vivekananda and Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara. Going by this observation, his outburst last year (telecast repeatedly) against poverty and corruption testify his zeal for social justice. Some people said the launch of Pawan Kalyan's Common Man Protection Force was all done like a cinema shooting. It was a mere publicity stunt. But, a majority of the viewers considered the gusty act of the actor as the reflection of his mindset. His aversion for the social evils. Yes, from the standpoint of an actor, he slowly graduated himself into a man of the social issues. What happend to his idea of CMPF? Very little is known about it these days. But, it took the entire state, its political leaders, factionists by storm. While the common man truly welcomed it, the elite and special, known as VVIPs, shuddered at it. They termed it as an attempt to raise private army. The subject turned into a state-level topic touching on the politico-social dimension of Andhra Pradesh.
Jumping the private corners
By taking charge of the youth wing of Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party, one way or the other Pawan Kalyan seems to be stepping solid into his revolutionary dreamland - CMPF. It is not an exaggeration. Half of Chiranjeevi's strength is "Kalyan". Praja Rajyam or Chiranjeevi, people invariably think of him also. His crowd pulling stamina is second to none, leveling or even crossing that of Chiru. A cheerful development for the megafans is that the actor shed his inhibitions about attending public functions (say film functions). Past one year, he became a semi-regular at these functions. Anyways, he simply exploded into a public figure... emerging out of his private corners.
Dual responsibility - Actor and Mega's man
Seven years after the release of Kushi, the actor repeated his magic with Jalsa, with its business projected at the International front. Now, Pawan's current project with SJ Surya (Puli!) is naturally awaited with huge expectations. The need of the hour for him is to address the two sections - his screen admirers and the people in particular (as representative of Praja Rajyam). Best of Luck.
