Analysis

Ad filmmaker turned director Jayendra could not weave a convincing anecdote and as a result Siddharth 180 movie review has fumbled at the box office. Jayendra did not inject  the enigmatic spirit, under-current vulnerabilities and break-the-shackles attitude type of characters and  left the audience wooing at the script. Teenyboppers will not find any elopement episodes, which is already visible in the trailers but the director could not convince the audience with the acts of the lead protagonist.

180 movie story deviates on certain attributes like absence true relationships and conflicts in real life. Siddharth once again shoulders the entire responsibility of the film. His character is etched with confusing emotions, coupled with very slow narration makes life difficult for the audience. Siddharth looks chivalrous in the opening, jovial in the middle, serious lover after that and a true lover in the end. However, in this process, the entire concept of death 'sentiment' has been overlooked. Its understandable that the movie's is communicating a message (through Siddhartha's death) that life is all about enjoying everyday to the fullest but that doesn’t mean that you take death too lightly where Siddharth emotes all kinds of expressions.

TeluguOne Perspective

Dealing with a script that has a direct relation with the death is very challenging, particularly when the audience know that the lead protagonist will die. There was heavy dosage of emotions but they were not connecting because of the 'not so credible' dialogues. But what's good to see is the story narration traversing between two eras of Siddharth's flashback episode and current life but it might confuse the audience. And all this might leave the masses in the backseat with higher inhibitions of the movie running in B and C centers.

The framework of director Jayendra is very good and he gave ample scope for all the characters but we have to say he failed to narrate in a gripping fashion. The first half of the movie looks humors with some peppy conversations between Ajay and Vidya. In the second half, Jayendra comes with an typical US lifestyle of Indians and also brings out a romantic angle between Ajay and Priya Anand. And eventually, the climax might be the best one to initiate debate on.

Performances

Siddharth once again comes with a good performance. His conversations with Nithya Menon and others during the first half is very humorous but once again he did the same mistake like he did for Oye movie – selected an unconvincing death sentiment script.

Nithya Meon has put on some weight but she looks ok as a press reporter her expressions during emotional sequences are very good. Priya Anand has shown lot of maturity and she has hog the limelight and at times even emulated Siddharth

Plus Points
  • Visually appealing
  • Camera work

Drawbacks
  • Slow Narration
  • Lack of griping screenplay
  • Not convincing the death philosophy

Technicalities
On the technical aspects, Bala Subramaniem's cinematography is brilliant. The shots captured using the RedOne camera stupendous. Music director Shareeth has done a reasonably good job, in fact couple of songs are very good.

Final Word on 180 movie review
180 movie review is not bright and promising. Although Siddharth's performance is pretty commendable, the slow narration and unconvincing screenplay might hamper the movie's tenure at the box office, particularly at B and C centers
