The state government has decided to amend the Preventive Detention Act to equate film pirates to goondas, bootleggers, drug offenders and land grabbers. The CID sleuths and the chief legal advisor of the CID, Mr Gopala Krishna, are working on drafting the amendment to the PD Act. The representative of AP film chamber anti-piracy wing, Mr Keshava Reddy, who is a former superintendent of police, along with the CID, is drafting the Act for AP by combining points from similar Acts in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Kerala. A CID official said "Audio and video piracy was included in the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activists Act, the Tamil Nadu Goonda Act and the Kerala Goonda Act. Based on this, AP will be amending its PD Act adding film piracy to the list of offences."

Directors seem to have taken a sudden liking to singers. Earlier directors linking-up with actors seemed common, but now singers are replacing actresses. Directors spend long hours shooting actresses and it is but natural for them to develop a liking for them, but how on earth they are getting to know singers and loving them. The pair we are talking about here are fairly well known; moreover the sexy singer is married and has kids too. But the couple are caring two hoots for society and its norms. Love seems to be blind and the pair is going ahead breaking all rules. It is widely perceived that they would marry each other very soon!

The Telugu audiences could easily remember Jagan Mohini directed by Vithalacharya with Jayamalini playing the title role. The film which hit the screen in 80s did wonders during those days, though the film industry was not so developed technically when compared to today's standards. However, the director made it a celluloid wonder with the help of camera itself.
With the availability of graphics and other such gimmicks, the film could be brought out in a more interesting way. Some producers gave a serious thought about this issue and started remaking of Jagan Mohini simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages.
In the latest Jagan Mohini, Namitha is playing the title role in place of Jayamalini, while Raja replaced Narasimha Raju. The shooting of the film was formally launched two days ago without any publicity

Subramanyam Sastri (Allari Naresh) falls in love with Surekha Reddy (Farzana) who lives with her relatives in Hyderabad. After falling in love Sastri gets to know that Surekha Reddy belongs to a popular factionist family in Rayala Seema. The rest of the story is all about how Subramanyam and his family members convince the factionist for the marriage in a humorous way.
Artists Performance
Allari Naresh is good as the Seema Sastri. His body language suited the character of a timid guy. His dances are good in this film. Farzana complemented the role given to her. She has got amazing flexibility in dances. Brahmanandam, Ali, Krishna Bhagawan, Raghubabu etc did well in comedy department. Jaya Prakash Reddy is typical in a role that he got so much used with.
Technical Departments:
Story - screenplay - direction: Story of the film is simple. But director succeeded in maintaining grip throughout the film with comedy and necessary twists. The comedy in the film is good, though it is bit vulgar at times. Screenplay is alright. The spoof of Seema films has become stale by now. But the director made sure that there is something more for the people who have seen spoofs of Seema film.
Other departments: Music is good with popular picturization of songs. Dialogues are good in parts. Cinematography is ok.
Analysis: The first half of the film is alright. Second half is OK. The plus points of the film are comedy and songs. On the flip side, there is a bit of vulgarity and Brahmin-bashing. If you can ignore illogical scenes and vulgarity, it is a decent comedy film that does not bore you.
