On Thursday night, for the first time ever, an engagement ceremony was telecast live in India.
It was veteran actor and politician Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Tej and Apollo Group of Hospitals’ chairman C Pratap Reddy’s granddaughter Upasana Kamineni’s big day.
While the two shweethearts exchanged rings, the young actor’s fans and followers could enjoy the function on their television screens. Thanks to the multi-camera setup that captured the event, the online editing of the footage and the final telecast across various satellite channels in the country.
A private event, only selected high profile guests were sent bar coded invitation cards for the event. However, the star did not feel like leaving out his many fans, claimed industry insiders. Thus the idea of a live telecast of the engagement ceremony was born.
The function organised by the would-be-bride’s family was held at Temple Tree farmhouse in Moinabad in the outskirts of Hyderabad. Moreover, the live telecast and the bar-coded invitation cards were not the only striking aspects of the event.
The groom, Ram Charan Tej donned a sherwani worth Rs 1.5 lakh and Upasana’s jewellery, imported specially from Brazil, was worth approximately Rs 10 crore. Even the decoration was undertaken by a Thailand based company.

The much-awaited engagement is finally happening! Tollywood star, Ram Charan Tej and Upasana Kamineni will be engaged today, laying to rest all rumours about the venue.
This was revealed in a press release sent out by Chiranjeevi’s family. Venue Temple Trees, the Kamineni family’s farm house near Himayathsagar is a beehive of activity as people prepare for the big event.
A friend of Charan's says, "This is a big event for all of us in Tollywood. It is a big vacation for us, where all of us are looking forward to catching up with each other and being part of the couple's big day."
According to tradition the engagement is being organised by the fiancé’s family and to ensure that everything goes smoothly, they are even having a “dress rehearsal” — twice over! Though the arrangements are very elaborate, a select few will only be invited to the engagement.
Both families performed a special puja on November 30 in the temple complex of the Jubilee Hills Apollo Hospital to bless the auspicious occasion.

December 1st is going to be a rather memorable day for many Telugu people and there are two reasons for that. A source from a TV channel revealed “From morning to evening, we will focus on ‘Bezawada’ and if any trouble is happening then it is more better for us. As it is, there will be enough mass masala due to the controversy factor. From evening onwards, we will all rush to the engagement venue. They might not allow us but we will have cameras outside the venue. Celebrities will come and it will be nice coverage.” With so much happening, it is obvious that people will be glued to their TV sets and this will obviously increase the TRPs.

It is about Pawan Kalyan and will he come to the engagement. Ever since the incident of mega family absence at ‘Panjaa’ audio function happened, it became a hot topic. Though folks like Allu Arjun and Naga Babu reiterated they are all one some are still not convinced. They are saying “We will know the real truth now. If Pawan Kalyan comes then okay but if he doesn’t come by any chance, even if he has a genuine reason no one will be ready to believe.” On the other hand, the mega fans are also very enthusiastic to see what happens. Renovation of Domakonda Fort is in process as part of venue arrangements for Ram Charan and Upasana engagement. Renovation work is on target to finish as per the planned Engagement. Tight security is maintained at the Fort as top notch politicians and VIP's are expected for the event.

Buzz that Domakonda Fort, one of the most beautiful fortresses in the region of Telangana, the location of the ceremony, participation of RAM Charan Kamineni Upasana with will. The Fort is located near Nizambad and only 100 km from Hyderabad.
The Fort is believed to create the in18th century Western architecture styles and follows, although can also be found on the Asif Jahis.
