 Delhi-born Kriti Karbanda debuted in Telugu films opposite Akkineni Nageshwara Rao's grandson, Sumanth. She is nowKriti Karbanda venturing into Kannada films and will play the female lead opposite Tamil actor Arjun's nephew Chiranjeevi Sarja. Kriti addressed the media in a sweet and confident manner after the muhurat of her first Kannada film, Chiru, at Gavi Gangadeshwara Temple in Hanumanthnagar. Chiru is directed by Mahesh Babu and produced by Suresh Jain. After working in the ad industry for 15 years, Kriti was very eager to put her experience to use in the Kannada film industry. She reveals that her role is that of a confident woman, not of a simple girl-next-door. |

 It has been quite a while since the project 'Ganga' was announced and this was meant to have victory Venkatesh in the lead and that too in pure mass masala role. The film was said to be under the direction of Amma Rajasekhar and till date, no update or whiff of this has been received. Sources from the industry say that doubts have been cast on Amma Rajasekhar and his brand value while some say that he has no substance as a director or a storyteller. On the other hand, Venky is said to be one man who will not take the next step unless he has the bound script. Amma Rajasekhar doesn't believe in such things so obviously there would be few creative differences if common sense is to be followed. For now, there is no news from the Daggubati Venkatesh house or Amma Rajasekhar house so looks like the flow of 'Ganga' has really stopped. |

 Having completed "Raavana" which starred Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vikram and Priyamani, ace director Mani Ratnam is planning his next venture "Azaan" which would star Ranbir Kapoor and Nana Patekar. It is reported that even the signing amount has been handed over to the two actors. According to Bollywood sources, Nana Patekar is reported to have rubbed Mani Ratnam while the director was narrating the script. Nana is said to have suggested a lot of changes in the script and even ventured to advise Mani on how to direct some scenes. Perhaps, Nana might have thought he new direction better than Mani after his directorial venture "Prahaar: The Final Attac". The buzz is that Mani Ratnam is now scouting for another actor who would replace Nana Patekar in "Azaan". |

 Tollywood producer Bellamkonda Suresh has strongly criticised national award winning actor Prakashraj for his comments on the quality of Telugu movies. Earlier interacting with media, Prakashraj told them that one of the jury members at National awards function in Delhi said to him that none of the Telugu films are getting nominated on national level these days. This has irked producer Bellamkonda Suresh, he said " a Telugu film "1940 lo Oka Gramam" has been adjudged as national best movie. Its director Narasimha Nandi took the award on the same stage where Prakashraj also received national award. Doesn't Prakashraj know about it?  The Telugu film director N. Shankar will make a film on the Telangana agitations. The movie, which is yet to be titled, will cover all the issues on Telangana and the agitation since it started in 1920. Shooting of the film is to begin at the end of April. The director who hails from Nalgonda district has directed blockbuster films like Jayam Manadera starring Venkatesh, Sri Ramulaiah starring Mohanbabu and Bhadrachalam with Srihari in the lead. He has also been a jury member at the National Film Awards twice.
Sources said that the movie will have three main characters and will be a blend of commercial and topical themes. Actors in the film will be portraying the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the CM, Mr K. Rosaiah, and other politicians. Shankar said he will cast 64 new faces in the film which will include 15 minutes of footage on the agitation. Interestingly, T-activists recently staged a dharna in front of the AP Film Chamber of Commerce demanding that the Telugu Film Directors Association give Shankar the post of the executive president. |

 Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has said that Kerala denying him the post of tourism brand ambassador was a "petty act of cheap convenience." In an entry in his blog, Bachchan also said that to find political connotations in his decision to promote Gujarat as tourism destination was rubbish. The CPI(M)-led government of Kerala had initially approached Bachchan to be the state's tourism ambassador and had later dropped the idea after the party politburo intervened and said someone who promoted Narendra Modi's Gujarat cannot be Kerala's ambassador. Hurt by the decision, Bachchan said in his blog that what he would be doing in Gujarat was just to work in a short film that would highlight various places of interest in the state. |

 Panchayathi Raj Minister Bothsa Satyanarayan announced that shortly he is going to make a movie with PRP chief Chiranjeevi's kid brother Pavan Kalyan. He said speaking to reporters in the Assembly lobby that the title has not yet been confirmed, but its shooting will be started very soon. The minister is hosting a dinner party at his recidence on 29th of this month in connection with the on going budget sessions of the Assembly. Once the girls attain puberty, they are trained to become courtesans, catering to the villagers. The girls undergo an elaborate ceremony at which liquor flows freely and some influential villagers 'initiate' them into the profession. TV channels started the scrolling by titling her as 'Hot Aunty' Shyamala. Even a channel quoted that, Shyamala is a male named Shyam but got transformed as Shyamala. Many film personalities started chatting with her in a Live Program. Incidentally some callers from Warangal wished her all the best for her stint in the Telugu films and said that they are proud that she is from the Telangana region. Even some film personalities like Uttej talked with her. She says that her favorite hero is Prabhas and she would like to act as character artiste in his film or even Mahesh Babu.
